Directions

From the village of Llansawel head NW on the B4337 for approximately 1/2 mile. Take first right turning in front of a white house (Sunny Bank) and continue up a track for 500 metres and the farm entrance is on the right.
A peaceful site in a stunning landscape from which to explore Carmarthenshire.

With only 15 pitches in 2 acres of wild flower meadow, and with beautiful views up two valleys there is plenty of scope to relax and unwind. A further 12 acres lead down to both banks of the River Marlais where you can light a fire, just sit and listen to the water babbling over the rocks or take a refreshing dip in one of the deeper pools if it takes your fancy.

Two local pubs are under a mile away in the village of Llansawel, and there are many places to visit within a short drive of the site including castles, gold mines, the mountains and lakes of the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains as well as Brechfa Forest with its popular bike trails and walks.

On-site facilities include a composting toilet, a flushing toilet, free hot shower and a roofed washing up station.

Things to do

Dolaucothi Gold Mines (15 minutes' drive) has been used since Roman times and the surrounding National Trust-managed land is also a treasure trove of wildlife. Brechfa Forest is a popular destination for mountain biking (10 minutes drive) and if you’re after open spaces there are the Brecon Beacons (25 minutes drive) and Llyn Brianne lake in the Cambrian Mountains (1 hour drive).

There are castles; Dinefwr (25 minutes drive) and Careg Cennen (30 minutes drive), and the National Botanic gardens of Wales with its famous glass dome is within easy reach (35 minutes drive).

Glynmarch Farm is maybe not the most obvious spot for beach holidays, but not too far away is Aberaeron (40 minutes) to the West, and Tenby (an hour and 10 minutes) to the South West.

No idea why I gave my review (above) 1 star. It should have been 5!

The perfect campsite! The owner is super friendly & nothing is a problem. He's very laid back & that spills over into the general atmosphere of the campsite. The facilities are spotlessly clean. The views & night skies are stunning & the riverside location make this the best campsite ever!
