Heading on A39 from the Barnstaple/Bideford direction, 1.5 miles into Cornwall, immediately after you see the large Will Urquhart warehouses on the left, turn right signposted Morwenstow and GCHQ (and The Bush Inn). Keep on this road for approx 2 miles, pass through the village of Shop (keeping left at the fork). Dene Lodge is the first house on the left after the community centre (don't go down the lane). Come through the stone gate posts and park to the side of the house.
From the opposite direction i.e. from Bude; head through the village of Kilkhampton and after a couple of miles you will see the "Will Urquhart" building on your right. Just before you reach it turn left towards Morwenstow.
In a quiet corner of a beautiful 1.5 acre garden with stunning views over the wildlife pond and nearby valley are our brand new shepherd's huts; Pippins and Baggins. There's a bit of a hobbit theme going on as you will also find an amazing hobbit house constructed of straw bales and a reciprocal roof where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day if you want a change of scene.
The shepherd's huts have everything you will need for a relaxing and memorable stay. They have their own bathroom with shower and compost loo (don't worry it's fine!). A kitchen area with induction hob and microwave in case you decide not to pop along to The Bush for supper just a short distance away. There’s also a BBQ for al fresco dining or relax and keep warm by the fire pit.
Just a few yards from your hut is your own wood-burning hot tub. Tell us when you plan to arrive and we'll make sure it's warmed up and ready for you to sit back and relax; if the sky is clear you will have a stunning view of the stars.
There's a wood burner in case it's a bit chilly and a comfy double bed.
Morwenstow Holidays is a wonderful place to relax in comfort at a stunning location in beautiful countryside. If you want to come with friends we can also offer a 1 bedroom cottage nearby. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Things to do
You may well just want to stay and relax but if you do venture out you will find the coast path just 5 minutes away at the end of the road and lots of lovely beaches to enjoy. Sandymouth is just a 10 minute drive away.
There are pubs nearby as well as farm shops and tea rooms aplenty. (Breakfast at the Atlantic Way Farm Shop is awesome!)
We are midway between Bude and Clovelly and the area has dozens of tourist attractions as well as wonderful walks along the coast path.
