From the East: leave the A30 at the Camborne (West) turn off. Stay in the RIGHT hand lane and turn LEFT at the top of the slip road. Take the 2nd exit (right) at the roundabout. Follow this road for a few miles, through the hamlet of Roseworthy. As you come up the hill into Connor Downs, shortly after the village sign, turn right at the crossroads (signed to Gwithian.) After a couple of miles you will be coming down a steep hill into the village. Soon after the village sign you will see a gate on the right with a sign for Prosper House Camping. Pull into the field and park in the parking spaces on the left of the gate. If you walk to the bottom of the field on the right hand side you will see a path through the hedge. Come through this and to the front door of the house.
From the West: leave the A30 at the Marks and Spencers roundabout (4th exit) signed to Hayle. Turn right at the double roundabout signed to Gwithian. Follow this road for a couple of miles until you see the Gwithian village sign. Shortly after this sign here is a sharp right hand turning just opposite Gwithian Farm Campsite and next to the Red River Inn. Turn right here. The entrance to the field is on the left, just after a sharp left hand bend. Follow for the house as above.
Prosper House camping is a friendly, family run, no frills campsite in the beautiful village of Gwithian, in St Ives Bay.
The three mile stretch of golden sandy beach, from Godrevy to Hayle, is just a short walk over the sand dunes, offering you hours of fun surfing, swimming, or just enjoying the view.
We opened in 2016 and since then have tried to build the kind of campsite we like to visit. We are lucky enough to have built a small community of visitors who come back year after year, and are adding more to our number each year as the word spreads.
We are a small campsite with a very limited number of pitches, for a quiet, intimate atmosphere. We have endeavoured to leave plenty of free space on site for campers to enjoy. Toilets, hot showers and a small washing up area are provided, as well as a small amenities area with a fridge freezer and charging facilities that campers may use if they wish.
Things to do
We are a short walk over the dunes to the beautiful Gwithian beach. Our sister company, Gwithian Academy of Surfing operates from this beach, and all our guests benefit from a 20% discount of surf lessons and hire. We also offer bike hire on site if you wish to explore the local area on two wheels.
We have a number of great bars and cafes within walking distance and are a short drive from bustling St Ives with its varied restaurants, bars and museums.
Lands End, the Lizard peninsula, Falmouth, the Eden Project and many of Cornwall's beautiful gardens are all an easy drive away.
