Faye Mackey 08/05/2023 5/5 ** Second stay…. won’t be the last **
An AMAZING stay in ‘Annie’ - a converted horse box. The accommodation is quirky with heaps of charm. The sleeping area is above the driver’s cabin with a ladder to get to the bed (it was easier to get up and down than expected, so don’t let this put you off- it added to the experience!). The bed was super comfy and the heated under blanket was a great added touch. The kitchen area is small but well equipped; ideal for a morning cuppa or a takeaway (many deliver to the site to save you driving and also means you can try one of the local gins from the on site bar). The living area has a log burner and television for rainy nights indoors and the decking and garden are perfect for sunnier evenings. We used the private hot tub several times during our stay. Watching the horses graze right next toius was an absolute highlight. The shower is in a converted horse trailer and I particularly loved this! The attention to detail was wonderful with lots of homely added touches. I won’t spoil the little surprises that Sharon leaves to make your stay extra special. As we stayed for Coronation weekend, we watched the celebration in the barn with the other campers and had a Pimms at the pop-up bar, followed by ‘musical bingo’ with a great live, local singer which was great fun. The weekend was rounded off with a picnic. A well-organised, enjoyable weekend with a lovely atmosphere.
The local pub (The Bulls Head) serves delicious Sunday dinner but is best booked in advance as it gets busy. It is about 40 mins walk away but only a few minutes by car. Guests at Tannenbaum receive 10% off too. Breakfast, coffee and snacks are available on site during the day so guests you don’t have to worry about taking food with you.
I would highly recommend and cannot wait to glamp or camp again in the near future. Thank-you again Sharon…. You work so hard to make everyone’s stay memorable
Faye Mackey 11/04/2023 5/5 Stunning location! The site is well maintained and very flat- ideal for tents and camper vans. The plots are well spaced with brilliant but basic facilities including unisex 2 clean showers and toilets. It is just what you need when camping after all. There is a well stocked bar and breakfast/ lunch available on site. There are pubs and takeaways a short journey away but food can be delivered to site. BBQs and fire pits also permitted. A fantastic atmosphere. A great spot to soak up the scenery and enjoy what the area has to offer. I can see why people book again and again. A small site full of charm. Helen Gration 25/09/2021 5/5 Fantastic 5 star site. Sharon is absolutely amazing. She is always happy to help and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We feel part of the family and enjoy sharing our bike adventures with both Sharon and Gez. The site is emaculate and very well maintained. Toilets are always clean and fresh. A big slice of cake and coffee at Coffee Modo (which is located on site) is a welcome releif after a day in the woods on the bike. We stay regularly and are never disappointed with the service. Outstanding views across the valley and lots of local walks/rides within a short distance from the site. My favourite get away destination to relax and unwind. Donna Annable 25/09/2021 5/5 Spent the last 5 days here In August. Far reaching views over the valley with a beautifully kept campsite. Toilets clean and solar shower bags available.
Sharon is a great host with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area and nothing was too much trouble.
Well stocked bar with seating area and a singer on the Saturday night which was an unexpected bonus.
The atmosphere is welcoming and you can’t help but relax on this gem of a campsite.
All in all a truly great site. Donna Annable 25/09/2021 4/5
Chantelle Parker 15/08/2021 5/5 Just got home from a fabulous weekend in the family bell tent. Everything we needed was provided. Plenty of fun for the kids and we really enjoyed the cahoots bar. Facilities were brilliant. A real credit to Sharon who couldn’t do enough to help. Can’t wait to visit again. Chantelle Parker 15/08/2021 4/5
Nicola Seale 31/05/2021 1/5 We had such an awful experience camping on Friday. We booked into a site that we have been going to for years without problem. I had been messaging the owner the evening before and she seemed off with me.
We then arrived Friday, checked in and pitched up where we was told to. 2 hours later (pitching with 3 kids) the owner stormed over to us shouting at us that we had pitched incorrectly. 3ft to far to the right. She wanted us to take our tent down and repitch it. Obviously we were completely shocked as we had followed her instructions in the first place. She was then telling us off for the dog being off the lead. I would never dream of letting him off, apart from the fact everyone seemed to have theirs off lead. Id even picked up another dogs poo to prevent the kids stepping in it.
Anyway cut a long story short, the neighbours next door realised what was going on and after a discussion they allowed us to park our car next to theirs to rectify the whole problem.
We wandered over to inform her of this. I mean who wants to take their tent down and re pitch it. Shes obviously never actually pitched a tent.
I told her our suggestion and she literally there and then said nope, I want you to leave the site, your not welcome here 😲 there was literally no talking to her. She was so rude. This is a lady we have spoken to and stayed with many a time with absolutely no problem. We are a respectable family and experienced campers.
So thats that, we had to pack up and leave. Heartbroken obviously and the kids beside themselves..
Has anyone ever had an experience like this? Can they just make you leave the site for no valid reason?! She gave us a refund so obviously she must know she was in the wrong. But I just cannot get my head round it all. We have never ever had any trouble camping anywhere but I fear this might have put me off for life. Tannenbaum Glamping and Campsite Derbyshire . Lianne Kirkpatrick 06/06/2019 5/5 I stayed at Tannenbaum over the late May Bank Holiday weekend & will definitely be returning.
Had a friendly welcome from Sharon & partner on arrival & found a perfect pitch with wonderful views. The facilities were basic but just as described & what I was expecting. The honesty shop is a rare find these days, a lovely touch...the new rustic bar was a recently added extra & a great gathering point for fellow campers. The acoustic music on the Saturday night was fantastic..sitting on hay bales & enjoying the atmosphere..just brilliant!
It was refreshing to see children being able to run around safely without restrictions as there is so much safe space for kids to play & enjoy some freedom.
Thank you! I look forward to returning! X
Vicky Parkin 07/08/2018 5/5 Superb site. Stunning location, with far reaching views. Site large enough to feel you're by yourself. Second time visit already for us, with more planned. The shepherd's hut looks good too. Thanks to Sharon for keeping such a great site. C Worthington 18/06/2018 5/5 What a wonderful campsite! Arrived for one night to stunning views and a very warm welcome. Sharon could not have been more helpful. The site is really well looked after and a breath of fresh air!
We'll be back soon and would recommend to anyone looking for easy, hassle-free camping. Jacqui Anne 17/06/2018 5/5 Fabulous site. We go loads.... Great views, well looked after site. Wouldn't go anywhere else now... Sharon looks after you.. couldn't ask for more.. 😍😍😍 Roger Parker 08/06/2018 5/5 Firstly I would like to say I would give this a excellent rating but for some reason in my brousers I can only put good but it's a 10 out of 10 place
This site is so beautiful well maintained and has lovely views. It has onsite toilets and a 24hr shop with many things you might need to help you break along each pitch has a fire pit that you can use and wood can be purchased from the shop and also has some games the children can borrow to help the days move along easily. On arrival Sharon the campsite owner could not do enough to make us feel more welcome anything we need or wanted to know she was on hand to help a big thank you for making our break go so well we would recommend this site to both old and young and we will definalty be visiting again. Many thanks again xx Peter Groves 14/05/2018 5/5 Another fantastic weekend at this gorgeous site, this was our 2nd visit and it did not disappoint. Sharon the owner is really friendly & helpful. If your looking for electric hookups & showers then this is not the place for you but if you wanting gorgeous views, a really relaxed site with lots of open space for the kids & dogs then this is the place for you.Booked again for August & cant wait to come back. Susan Ellison 01/11/2017 5/5 Fabulous site. You feel in top of the world here the views are fantastic, the air is pure and the site owners are wonderful friendly, helpful and accomodating people. They are always prepared to go that extra mile to make your stay memorable. They are improving facilities all the time. Try it for a true Derbyshire welcome and if available take advantage of the tasty breakfast or barbeque packs and also experience the special camp fire parties. Woodland walks close by. Well done Tannenbaum April Fussell 30/10/2017 5/5 Great campsite, lovely views and lots of space for the children to run around. Toilets are very good and small shop too. Owners were very helpful. Nicki Moss 01/08/2017 5/5 We had a great one night stay here - friendly welcome - basic facilities with chilled atmosphere - just perfect for us! Loved the honesty shop and enjoyed watching children and families play on large field as we watched evening sun go down in front of our campfire (although looked like you could borrow fire pits/drums from the site). The near ancient woods are a delight to walk through and The Bear Inn, down the lane was a lovely oldey worldy pub that allowed dogs in bar area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Peter Groves 30/05/2017 5/5 Fantastic site with spectaculiar views over Derbyshire, hosts Sharon & Ian extremely welcoming & helpful. Local pup The Bear only ten minutes walk, serving a good range of beers & food.
If you like luxurious all singing-all dancing facilities, this site is not for you - but if you like low key, funky and chilled surroundings - it's perfect. Value for money at £10 a night. Dawn Marson 29/05/2017 5/5 We had a one night stay in the large bell tent, ideal for anyone fancying a bit of glamping, child and dog friendly. Amazing views from the site and nice woodland walk nearby. Clean toilets and a little shop. Owners very friendly and go out of their way to help. Highly recommend. We will be back!! Jessica Markham 10/04/2017 5/5 Two stays in camper with awning plus an energetic doberman. Beautiful setting with good local walks including a pub within a 10 min ramble. Friendly and very welcoming, basic facilities done beautifully including a small shop containing loads of little bits to help you have a fantastic trip. Can't wait for our next visit! Moffett Louise 07/04/2017 5/5 We loved this site!
We came here on our maiden voyage in our campervan (a step up from our tent). We always search for sites that allow fires, children and dogs and now we also have to search for those that allow campervans!
I spoke will Sharon on the phone and she told me there is no shower block or electrical hook up, my reply was 'that is why I have picked you!' There is, however, a lovely clean toilet block.
The site is well maintained with fantastic views. There was plenty of room for the girls to play and they made good use of the various games available on site (the tennis rackets were a favourite).
We had a drink in the local pub, although we did not eat there, the smell of the food was tempting us.
Sharon and Ian could not have been better hosts, they are both very welcoming and you soon feel like you are chatting with old friends, rather than the campsite owner.
The site is really well situated to visit the wonders of Derbyshire.
If you prefer a campfire over a shower and a fantastic view over a club house, this is the campsite for you!
We shall return…
Malcolm Terry 02/09/2016 5/5 Spectacularly beautiful location and locale. Delightful hosts who could not be more helpful and very clean toilet block. No showers or hook up but tranquil and great pub about 1K up the road.
