From Okehampton follow the A386 to Hatherleigh, turn off towards Holsworthy. Follow this road for a few miles through the village of Highampton. After a mile there is a turning to Black Torrington. We are half a mile down this road on the right. You will see some green garages and our sign.
Glamping, Gypsy Caravans, Caravans and tent camping in a beautiful farm setting with meadows lakes and woodlands. We have a 20 acre site with kitchen facilities and toilet shower facilities. We can accommodate small groups, families or large groups in our belltent glade. We also offer camping and wild camping in the woods. We are a quirky site with areas suited best for families and areas best suited for couples. We are a quirky site that runs geek retreats and themed weekends. We are passionate about wildlife and conservation and are a retreat to micro pigs, kune kune pigs, pygmy goats and hedgehogs to name but a few of our animals that we dote on - and that you will dote on too :). We regularly show visitors our animals and local walks/amenities such as our own woodlands and lakes to visitors on arrival. Fires are permitted in designated areas; but none near the tents/units. We have a very eclectic mix of accommodation here ranging from belltents. gypsy caravans, cabins in the woods, grass pitches and even a holiday let for the non campers among us! We have a vending machine and a games room as well as other small hideaways where people can enjoy the beautiful views or socialise with others. Our kitchen areas are shared but include ovens, microwaves, kettles, fridge freezers and plenty of seating. We have picnic tables and a hammock glade as well as a hidden cabins dotted about in the woodland.
Things to do
This is a site equidistant between Dartmoor and the North Cornish coasts. There are two pubs in walking distance, as well as beautiful walks and a cyclepath 1/2 a mile away. We are half a mile from 2 archery schools. We have 2 market towns less that 2 minutes away, and Cornwall is on our doorstop. Tintagel and the Eden project are often visited by our guests, and Bude is a 20 minute drive for those in search of close beaches. The catherdral city of Exeter is an hour away. We have many local fisheries for the keen anglers among us and many local parks for those with children such as The Milky way and The Big Sheep as well as Dingles Heritage Fairground.
