WHO WE ARE
We maybe new to the camping world but we're certainly not newbies to the countryside.

With a young family ourselves, we could think of nothing better than opening our field for those that want to stay somewhere, with a breathtaking view that stretches to Haldon Forest across the Teign Valley.

Our licence to operate was granted by the Freedom Camping Club, which is free to join for all campers, you can find more information here.

We are no longer a working farm but an up and coming smallholding. with three generations living here (including our dear Dad who, if you are lucky enough to meet, is as Devonian as they come)

We are always on site busy with the chores of country life.

WHAT WE DO
We offer basic facilities, i.e. a field and Devon's finest Tap Water. A few handy extras, like free cups of tea in our "Tea Shed" with a stunning view and adding more all the time, all within a two minute walk of the Palk Arms.

Feral children are welcome that wish to run off some steam with laps around the field. Their well behaved owners would also be welcome along with friendly dogs.

Bringing camping back to a time where you made your own fun, parents could actually relax with a real visit to the beautiful Devon countryside. A space where memories are made!

SOME OF THIS
WATER

Devon's finest Tap Water is provided. Three tap's for drinking etc

and another for washing out your dirty bits at the Chemical Disposal Point

RUBBISH

We don't have a business waste collection, take your landfill rubbish home with you, we will happily recycle bottles, cans and cardboard, food, plastics, nappies. PLEASE SEPERATE INTO BINS PROVIDED. We can't take broken chairs, beds, tents or kitchen sinks.

PITCHES

We don't allocate pitch sizes, bell tents, camper vans and family tents, come in all shapes and sizes now, so as long as you keep at least 6 metres between you and your camping neighbour we have no issue. You can park next to your pitch too, please no rally type doughnuts in the field though.

If your coming as a family or friends group, let us know when you book.

THE LOCAL PUB

The local pub "The Palk Arms" is a two minute walk and a 10 minute crawl back if you decide to sample the fine Devon Wine or the local Jail Ale.CLOSED MONDAY'S

SORT OF THIS

DO WE HAVE WIFI?

No, this is Hennock, we are lucky to get broadband at the house but mobile signal is good and 3G/4G seems good too, will be the year 2099 before we get considered for Fibre optic we may install WIFI then

ELECTRIC

We don't have EHU but we do have an electric point near the shower block, so campers can blow up air beds and charge a power bank or phone, this is free for campers.

CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA

At the bottom of the camping field our little cherub decided she would share her play things with other children, for the Under 10's (Supervision is a must) swings and a climbing frame with a small slide. Latest addition is another 16ft trampoline and a small climbing frame, for bigger kids at the top of the field, again supervision is a must and used at campers own risk.

OF COURSE THIS
BBQ's

Feel free to have a BBQ just keep the scorch patch to a minimum where possible rise your BBQ off the grass, bricks to use are provided outside the Tea-Shed

CAMPFIRES

Kindling and logs are available for £4 per bag on site, we also sell BBQ charcoal and fire lighters. A bag contains small logs, split to the right size for small fires with some kindling included.

We want to save our grass, so bring a fire pit or basket, or we supply small BBQ/fire baskets by the tea shed that you are welcome to use for a small fire. First come first serve basis.

TEA SHED

Our little Tea shed, near the pitches, is where you can do your dishes and make a cup of tea, or coffee if you need an awaken-er. We leave tea-bags and coffee sachets here for campers to use. Tourist info is also in here with a large ordnance survey map on the wall.

WATER RECEPTACLES AND A LIGHT SPRINKLING

There are two toilets with electric showers in them, each contains a loo, shower, basin and a bench, this is so if you have a family and need to keep them contained, you can attempt to make yourself feel awake without worrying.

We have two more toilets (in sheds) with basins near the shower blocks, small but perfectly formed. (completed July 2016)

Please note all camping spots are located at the top of the field and there is a walk down a slope to the toilets and showers.

Things to do

Well apart from being a two minute walk from The Palk Arms - Amazing Ales, Food and atmosphere, family friendly, with real locals.

There is the local park in the heart of Hennock village and the amazing Reservoirs (three of them) within a mile or two one of which is a premier trout fly fishery, Pike fishing is also available and boat hire.

2 miles away is Bovey Tracey a model National Park town with a few quaint shops, food shops, a few more pubs, take-aways and a craft centre along with a lovely park that you can walk the river Teign by.

Dartmoor, if you love good walk and the bootiful moors, there is letterboxing and tor to tor walks, the Dartmoor Ponies are also adorable.

Finlake a local holiday resort offers day passes for all their activities including an onsite indoor swimming pool. (10 minute drive away)

Cannonteign Falls (5 minute drive) Home to England’s highest manmade waterfall, Canonteign Falls is a magnificent example of a Victorian folly set in a magical natural paradise. The waterfalls themselves descend for over 70m making this one of the most breathtaking attractions in Devon and providing a wonderful day out for all the family.

For the golfer, Beginner or Pro, Teign Valley Golf Club is also a ten minute drive. Teign Valley Championship Golf Course is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of Dartmoor National Park situated just minutes from the A38 offering easy access to Exeter and Newton Abbot. The 18 hole course at just over 6000 yards (par 70) is fast-draining and provides excellent all year round playability. Designed to challenge the talented, yet not too daunting for the beginner, the course takes advantage of natural features including ponds, streams and mature trees, making it a varied and interesting test of golf.

Although we are only two miles from the A38 (Devon Expressway) and a few miles from Dartmoor, the coast is only 7 miles away at Teignmouth, a usual sea-side town and from there you can follow the coast to Torbay and the English Riviera all the way to Brixham.

Beautiful location, easy going owners, rare opportunity to camp with a fire in Dartmoor area. Well hidden, good toilets and showers, honesty shop very handy. Pub good too.

We went in a group of couple of campers and a tent and had a great time. Plenty of space for kids to run about. Cracking view with a pub in spitting distance. Friendly owners. Honesty shop for basics like charcoal, milk, bacon etc. Good simple amenities. Only downside is we should have stayed an extra night as it was bank holiday. Will we go again? Definitely! Thank you
