The Interconnect Number 9 leaves Skegness, passes our lane end and continues on to Mablethorpe and Louth.
The campsite is located midway between Skegness and Mablethorpe, just off the A52. Take the turning for Anderby and the seafront. When you reach the junction with the Flo Gas Depot turn and head towards the village. We are the second property on the right after the junction.
Bluebell Farm is signposted with blue and white boards at the gateway. The farm is well lit and visible even at night. Also, the turning for Anderby on the A52 between Mumby and Huttoft is clearly signposted.
Captain Bluebell's Farm provides traditional farm holidays for campers who enjoy rural simplicity combined with modern facilities. Come and stay in the grounds of a real Victorian farm that dates back to the 1860s, surrounded by countryside, and which even has traditional farm animals and some more exotic four-legged friends...
Stay on historic rig and furrow land that has been untouched since Viking times - this area has a rich history of Viking settlers and who knows, maybe the original Captain Bluebell sailed his long boat ashore at Anderby creek and ploughed these lands himself? The site is close to Anderby creek beach and midway between all the popular resorts of the east coast. Also a 30-minute drive away is the Donna Nook nature reserve and seal sanctuary. You’ll find lovely coastal walks just at the end of our road too.
We are set where the coast meets the countryside: the seafront is a couple of miles away at the end of the village. In the area there are beautiful beaches for safe bathing and miles of clean sand backed by sand dunes and leading to many traditional villages with restaurants, bars and seaside attractions.
On our farm we have alpacas, sheep, ponies, llamas, chickens and a herd of goats. There are eight acres of farmland with plenty of space around the campsite. Relax here with us at Captain Bluebell's where we run a nice family campsite with plenty of space between pitches and a clean modern shower block. Feel free to let your children explore and play on the farm where they can use their imagination instead of their iPad!
On site we have a shop selling camping supplies, jams, chutneys, fresh eggs and Farmer Brown's ice cream. Feel secure in the knowledge that we are always on site, if you don't find us in the shop or reception we live in the farmhouse right by the front gate. There are many dog-walking areas close by and there’s no extra charge to bring your dog as we know they are part of the family…
Public footpaths lead to The Red Lion or you can take a courtesy bus to The Axe and Cleaver in Huttoft – if booked, the landlord will even bring you home again at the end of the night. Both pubs have regular entertainment, good food and Sunday lunches. Take a visit to the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary which is just five minutes away - and where you can feed carrots to the donkeys and feed yourself at their café! It`s free to visit and all proceeds go to caring for the donkeys. There is a local bus service at the end of our lane to all major resorts and Louth. If you are not at Captain Bluebell’s Farm, you are in the wrong place!

Louise Matson 25/08/2017 5/5 A great big huge thank you to Jon and all the team here at Captain Bluebells. We have had the most fabulous 5 nights on the site, the great welcome was just the start of the chat and banter we have shared. Our 4year old has loved being able to run free, feed the animals and watch the alpaca being sheered. I don't think Colin will need feeding for the rest of the summer!! Nothing was any trouble for Jon, who parked us up, lent us a step as we had just broken ours and gave us great information about the area. The facilities were kept spotlessly clean with plenty of nice hot water. The little area with a microwave and boiling hot water was great for my husband who enjoyed an early morning cup of tea without having to wake me up boiling the kettle. It also has a fridge, freezer and microwave so no need to do lots of running to the shops. Looking forward to coming back again.....as long as Jon can guarantee the weather will be as good lol :-)
See you again soon Pat, Lou & Kaie
