From Nottingham direction:
From the Oxton Roundabout on the A6097 take the turnoff in the direction of Oxton following the road round (not turning into Oxton village), take the 2nd left B6386 towards Southwell. Take this road for about 2 miles passing turnoffs for Oxton on the left and Blind Lane. Take the steep hill and on top of the hill slow down and indicate right. Turn down a farm lane which has a FARMSTAY sign and alongside some green railings . The road is bumpy (sorry!), go along this lane until the railings end and our house is the first on the left. The hut is immediately on your left, park outside the hut or on the drive adjacent. If you miss our farm entrance you will get to Rossellewood or Norwood Farm, turn around and come back!
From Newark or Southwell direction:
Take the B6386 from Southwell in the direction of Oxton. Follow this road for around 4 miles, pass two turnoffs for Halam, after the 2nd turnoff it is about 1 mile to our lane.
After passing a left hand farm road for Holly beck Garden centre, look out for green railing turn left at the end of the railings down a bumpy farm road which has a FARMSTAY sign on a tree. If you end up going down a steep windy hill, you have missed the lane so turn around and come back up the hill, then turn right.
Oxton Hill Hideaway is a fabulous self contained shepherds hut located on our 80 acre farm. With its own private garden the hut has an ensuite bathroom, double bed and kitchenette including combination microwave, gas BBQ. Use the bridle paths on our farm which link to Southwell and neighbouring villages or visit the historic Minster town of Southwell. Bring your bikes as you can cycle for miles, bring your horse too or just enjoy the walks. We also offer carp fishing. A stylish hotel room in a hut!
Things to do
Visit Southwell, the historic town with the famous Minster, or Sherwood Forest nearby. Also Rufford Park, Welbeck Abbey. Nottingham is 30 minutes away, Newark on Trent 20 minutes drive. The hut is based on our farm which has fabulous paths and bridle ways that lead to local villages too.
