Directions

Travelling by road you will be approaching the campsite along Featherbed Lane. If you have approached from the Wantage direction, or via Rowstock, you will have turned into Featherbed Lane from the A417 – the Reading – Wantage road. The campsite is an entrance-way on your left about 1/4 mile along, at the SLOW sign before two sharp bends.

If you have come from the A34 or from Abingdon or Didcot you will have turned into Featherbed Lane at the Q Gardens Farmshop. The campsite is an entrance-way on your right about 3/4 mile down, just after two sharp bends.
Muster Point Campsite is just off Featherbed Lane in East Hendred, South Oxfordshire. We are 3.5 miles from the Ridgeway in the North Wessex Down Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We also have excellent access by foot, bike and car to the village of Steventon with its three Pubs and a CO-OP and Post Office. In 30 minutes you can be in the centre of Oxford via the UK’s first Park & Ride.

Things to do

Muster Point Campsite is 3.5 miles from the Ridgeway in the North Wessex Down Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). There is vehicular access through East Hendred village to a car park on the Ridgeway just by Scutchamer Knob. From there you can walk or cycle either East towards East Ilsley and Compton, or West towards Wantage and The White Horse at Uffington.

From the campsite you can walk or cycle off road to the village of Steventon, past the Truck Festival site and through the beautiful Steventon Copse. Steventon has three pubs and a CO-OP and Post Office. Also accessible off-road is Q Gardens Farmshop, boasting a butchers, bakery, delicatessen and green grocers. In the Summer months they open a PYO selling strawberries, raspberries, cherries, apples, etc.

The Didcot Railway Centre (10 minutes drive away) has a unique collection of GWR steam locomotives, carriages, wagons and buildings.

In 30 minutes you can be in the centre of Oxford via the UK’s first Park & Ride.
